My character, Francis, is an alchemist tank and he does exceptionally well. He is in chainmail, but can get buffed AR up to 67, and strength up past 160. His specs are:

Macefighting
Tactics
Alchemy

Secondaries:
Parry
MR
Healing

With buffs, he can also heal up to about 60hp, and the Tamla heals with alchemy are also very nice, fully restoring your health bar.
