Starring Hayden Christensen (think Anakin Skywalker in Attack of the Clones), Peter Sarsgaard, Steve Zahn, and Hank Azaria. Short synopsis: the story of journalist Stephen Glass (associate editor of the New Republic) who in 1998 was discovered to had been fabricating more than half of his articles. The story is 100% based on real events and people, and the Glass scandal was huge back in 1998 (some of you may even remember hearing about it), mostly because one of the nations most renowned and respectable political magazines was forced to apologize to readers for dozens of semi or fully-fictional articles. What's most amazing is that, at the time, Glass had become famous for his 'fantastic' pieces and was actually contributing to several important publications while working full time for TNR.

Anyhow, I thought this was a very interesting movie. Not a whole lot of action but drama can be as good as any action movie (or better) when you know the events you're watching actually occurred. I also liked it because it reminded me just how much some journalist can get away with if not kept in check. This guy pulled off what should have been impossible (for three+ years), and it was not that long ago (1998). I shudder to think how many Stephen Glass kind of characters are out there right now.

Very good movie but kind of sad. The guy is a good example of a sociopath.
