Microsoft is expected to recommend that the "average" Longhorn PC feature a dual-core CPU running at 4 to 6GHz; a minimum of 2 gigs of RAM; up to a terabyte of storage; a 1 Gbit, built-in, Ethernet-wired port and an 802.11g wireless link; and a graphics processor that runs three times faster than those on the market today.

Don't expect it to be ready for release any time soon...

That figures. That's the microsoft way. It's YOUR computer but microsoft DECIDES what you can put on it and poke their nose into what hardware you change in YOUR computer. Blah, their BS is so deep that hip waders lost their usefullness years ago.

Oh, did my links in your other post help you at all Randell?

The Via Arena link was great. Must have overlooked that one at some point. Think I'll be going with the unichrome project on sourceforge tho. The VIA driver at the arena is mostly just frame buffer support.
Guess I'm off to get the latest Xfree source and do a build of that. Then I'll try and do the unichrome build.
Hmmm maybe i'll just stick linux on my unused comp.
It has the nforce2 chipset with geforce 2 nividia audio and lan on board. I know mandrake 9.1 has the drivers for them already. Not to mention that Nividia has some linux drivers for d/l.
