From the "WoD Script Releases" link, just under the player files one.

Could not find servers.cfg so I created it (and login to match). Now I get this error when trying to open POL:

Unable to open configuration file config/servers.cfg

Both the servers.cfg file and the login file are in both the POL and Ultima Online directory, in case it couldn't find it in one or the other.

I'm not sure what else I need to try. Any ideas, and many thanks for all the help up to this point.

You need to make one per this link:

http://www.theworldofdreams.com/phpBB2/ ... php?t=6224

Once you do that you should have a funtioning shard :)

POL is running!! :D

However, how do I log in? :?:

Do I use the WoD client or the default client?

Also, the instructions say to use admin for both the login and the password, but I tried them in both the WoD client and the default client, and they don't work.

Thanks again everyone, I'm close!

You can use either one you want. To do so, though, you need to edit wodli.cfg (or login.cfg) to point to your local machine (the IP address will be 127.0.0.1.) Make sure you backup the file first, of course :)

Naturally I spoke too soon. :D

The first time I try to log in to my test shard, the opening screen just sits there, and POL "sees" the connection. When I then try to log in again, I get past the first screen to the shard selection screen. I pick the test shard and hit enter, but I get this message:
The client server could not attach to the game server. It must have been taken down. please wait a few minutes and try again.

I am using the basic UO login, not the WoD client.

Check that the servers in server.cfg are using the specified port. By default, this is 2593.

I double-checked the servers.cfg and the port number is right. Now, when I try to log in, it just sits on the screen after picking the shard.

In the POL dialog box, I see this:
    unexpected message type 47, 65 bytes <IP 127.0.0.1, Account:None>

Do I need to somehow "create" an account on my own shard?

there are a few default accounts you can use for messing around, login admin, password admin is one, also I believe a few guest accounts are in theere login guest and i think password guest.

Not entirely sure if you got as far as the char selection screen or not.

I am in Atei World!! :D

Wow, so very cool. According to POL, the spawner is even running. Hope I don't die--kinda hard to message for help.

Many, many thanks to everyone for their help. Now, what can I do with this Atei World?

That isn't the file I downloaded. Where do I get it?

Front page of World of Dreams. At the bottom you want to click the WoD Script Files link. Then click the top link on the page that appears. It says "WoD POL scripts for POL 0.95".

Alternately, click this: http://www.theworldofdreams.com/files/wodzip_pol095_2004_03_31.zip
