I would have to agree with you, Eldric. It took me twice through the books to really enjoy them.

I have. I really enjoyed it. There were some new twists on their "standard" story.

I think I've only missed maybe one or two "stand-alone" Eddings books. What can I say? I don't mind the repetition as long as it's well-written repetition. And in the second set of each series, they poke fun at themselves about it, too, which is a good thing. They know. The fans know. But still we read the books anyway.

If you want a completely different Eddings story, try reading "The Losers".
