Magical jewelry

I was wondering if I equiped magical jewelry of strength would it allow me to wear heavier armor? Or is armor requirement a base strength thing?

The armour you can wear is base strength only.

mostly the str jewellery is about the extra hp. mine has saved my life countless times.
