Question about Tamed Dragons

During the invasion spawn last night my dragon died for the first time and it brought up a few questions that I needed to ask.

1) Do Great Dragon's loose skills on Death? Is it just a fraction or do they reset all the way back to their base stats?

2) What is the skill cap on dragons and is there any way to check to see if they have reached it?

3) Is there a death limit on dragons, like in henchmen?

4) If there is no way to check these stats, would it be possible for a status gump to be made like that of henchmen?

I have not stabled this dragon in over 3 months and have been doing fairly contant hunting with him. I am just curious on how this death effects him.

Thanks,

This is the only one I can answer more or less for sure, the res limit is taming/10 so 11 ressurections if you have 110 taming.

Ok, I'm fairly certain that their skills do NOT reset back to base upon death, although they *could* be losing a fraction, like players do as "death taxes". On the other hand, it DOES seem that stabling them resets their skills/stats.

Death count is as Eldric posted= 1/10 your taming skill.

Skill cap? I would think it has to be similar to henchies or any other critter on the server in that when the critter is randomly generated in a spawn, some of it's skills will be low, some high, and with training they "max" out just like a players... I have noticed that at 110 taming, it can sometimes take me nearly an hour to tame certain greats- but THOSE greats are significantly stronger than the ones I tame in one or two shots...

Currently there is NO way to check a tamed critters skills/stats, but I like the suggestion of making their status gump the same as henchies. It would certainly make it easier to determine which dragons are keepers, and which are headed for the vendor.

Just my two gold pieces.

Yes they do.

Their skills reset every time they´re being resurrected or stabled.

Sorry for the late response. I don't read the boards very often.

How do you keep a dragon without stabling it? I stable mine every time I'm done with him, because I'm afraid he'll go wild again and hurt someone. How do you keep this from happening if you don't stable it?

Thanks,
Avyn

Tamed creatures "log out" with you... well, sorta. They "hide" and are unable to effect players or NPC's in game until such a time as you log back in with the character who owns them. You should note, however, that upon logging in, you need to wait, sometimes up to 60 seconds, for your pet to "pop out" of hiding, and when they do, they will most likely be VERY hungry. Feed them immediately and you are good to go. Doing this allows you to "build up" your tamed dragon's skills so they become much more effective in combat. Additionally, buffing them up the same as player characters works wonders for their fighting ability.

Oh, I forgot one important thing- make sure you tell your pet to "stop" and "stay" before you log out also. That should be everything you need! :) Plus, now you can save that 500gp from stabling the little guy every time! :)
