Ninja Gaiden

Ok...awesome graphics, fun game at the start..then it gets insanely hard! Honestly unless your willing to give up the majority of your free time to practice and practice and practice the game I dont recommend it! Right now im trying to find someone here in my home town willing to buy it, but everyones played it and they all think its so hard its stupid too. I mean the 2nd hardest boss in the entire game is the 2nd boss you fight, so most people get to the 2nd stage and cant make it any further! And all of this being on the easiest level. Which is normal since there is Normal and Very Hard difficulty levels. On Very Hard I have trouble making it past the first few enemies you face let alone the stage! I didnt mean to start this out as a review for the game, its more of a warning to anyone who hasnt heard or tried it to rent it before you buy it, because I know I wasted a good 50 bucks!

So you're saying you wasted money based solely on the difficulty of the game or is there more to it? I was thinking of getting it being an old ninja gaiden fan. The black cartridge was cool!

I agree it is a very challenging game. I rented it before buying it to see if it was my cup of tea, and it wasn't. Great graphics, but as Az stated the learning curve is insane.

If you are thinking about buying it, rent it first just to be sure you'll really like it.

Well its fun I guess, but most games that are so hard I get seriously ticked off at them i wanna hit something, I dont tend to play long and Ninja Gaiden is one of those games. Honestly I dont think there is a learning curve, I've had sessions where ill tear through enemies like their tissue paper, somehow die and then be put back a bit, and not even be able to touch the enemies the next time around the'll just pummel me into dust for hours from then on. Its almost like a game that learns how good you are, then when it ups the skill level it skips the next 4 difficulty levels and puts you at maximum. I really dislike it for that. Besides that the graphics are great, the music is great, when you are winning but its still a challenge its great, but most of the time your not winning, its you playing the same 3 ninja over and over and over again and they getting 15 hit combos on you while you get 2 or 3 hit combos on them maybe.

Hah ninja Gaiden on the orginal nes was hard. Xbox Ninja Gaiden isnt. Its all about knowing the moves and knowing what to do when. I am halfway through the game and have only played it for a few weeks. I am currently on chapter 9/18. I admit it is somewhat challenging but.. I suppose I am a hardcore gamer and my dex is of l33tness.. lol
