The Quest that never was.

It seems that Boone the banker in britain had been kidnapped. Not only that but the villains had replaced him with an Imposter. The imposter was wrinkled out quickly enough as he just couldn't fake being the bonny boone we all know and love. Once exposed however the imposter greatly over rated his chances of survival. He lingered to first deny being an imposter and then to taunt us with the knowledge that he had gathered all our "secrets". Once the fellow realized that the frenzied mob was going to tear him to bits he did make a break for it. Got almost to the east end of the bank before the bits lost cohesion. We had learned that Vernon possessed Keys which might lead us to a gate from brother Lysander who was quite helpful during the quest.

We set off for Vernon's home via the south gate of trinsic. Had a bit of resistance from scattered Prets but that was dealt with pretty summarily. Reaching the entrance to Vernon's valley we did a bit of regrouping while the first in reported Dailga presence. Not a lot but once those warhorses cut loose in a confined space it got unpleasant in a hurry. Once the casualties had been ressed and geared up we advanced into the valley. As usual a couple bodies rushed forward rather more eagerly than was wise but this time there were no great consequences. There were a few more Dailga to deal with and then some Dark Monks and Dark Summoners. Both are powerful adversaries though i would personally be more concerned with the Summoners since they tend to produce demons in numbers. Once the house was cleansed we searched the area and discovered a teleporter to another place. Most of us used the teleporter immediately however Rime hung back and continued to search for the Keys that Vernon supposedly had. He was able to figure out the location and rejoined us. In the face of the new information we retraced our steps only to find that we had been able to find out how to get through the doors facing us by trial and error. Each door had 3 levers of different colours. One opened the door, another would teleport you to the beginning of the tunnels and the last would gate in a monster like a lord of the abyss.
Reaching the far side of the tunnels we found another teleporter. This led into a series of tunnels infested with those large white serpents. We pressed ahead and cleared the tunnels of vermin. At last we entered a large room piled with supplies and well stocked with Monks and Summoners. It was a bit hard to tell who was more surprised but that passed in an instant and we fell upon each other with some real zeal. Several of our gallant band fell in quick order but things shook out and the rest of us mopped up the monks in short order. At the end of the tunnel leading out of this room was yet another porter. Azzo rushed ahead and was slain by the guardians who quickly fell in turn to the several of us who moved up to rescue Azzo. In the next room we found Boone who was quite pleased to see us.
I looked about his quarters and thought that all in all for a prison it was pretty plush with a nice view. Boone agreed that the only real downside was the steady torture he was subjected to. Upon consideration i had to yield the point to him.
We returned to the bank in britain at this point to restore Boone to his place of honour.
I spoke to Boone later in hopes of learning something of our foes. He said they were quite interested in the Castle. Layouts and security arrangements in particular. I would suggest that the Captain of the Guard may wish to shake things up a bit until we get to the bottom of this. Perhaps the Order Guards may wish to augment the security forces available as well. It seems all to possible they may want to strike at the Queen herself or perhaps they think they have a way to gain access to the Royal Vault and the artifacts of power stored within. In either case we would be in grave danger.
I do not know who these Dark Monks serve but i am inclined to smell the stench of the Pillars on them. We have slain two of the Pillars already for their temerity in attacking our Kingdom. Perhaps the others seek revenge or more likely to destroy us before we track them to their lairs.
