Trolls? Peace?

Today I had just travelled to Minoc and decided to keep the troll population from getting out of hand, when I was approached. A troll Emissary made all his kin leave while he delivered a message to me for the Queen. He claims that they don't want to fight anymore, that we kill them and more of them come, or they kill us and more of us come and its just never ending bloodshed. The message for our Queen is: Juu want peace? We wanting peace too. Juu send peoples to Minoc camp, we talk. Signed Heinreich.

I don't know who this Heinreich is but he obviously has some sway in the Mines north of Minoc. I haven't gone to the camp, and no time was specified. Perhaps we need to swing by there every now and then and hopefully run across a somebody of the trolls.

I have known the trolls for a very long time. I respect their courage and singlemindedness and their craftsmanship in quality specialized digging tools. That said, I wouldn't trust them any further than I can throw a troll warloard when my bad shoulder is acting up.

I have - often. They don't seem to want peace so I continue to stab them, loot their stuff and sell their hides. I will continue to do so until the day they decide not to attack me. I'm not holding my breath.

Yes, I went shovel-shopping at Trollmart just the other day. As usually, the clerks had attitude but the prices were great.

Penned by the Queen: Peace talks have been slow, but our ambassadors tell us that something may be settled on Friday next. Diplomacy is never quick, and we would like to see a resolution quickly as well... but these things cannot be rushed.

A secret treaty negotiated behind closed doors? I don't like the odor of this. It smells like happy troll, and that is no bubblebath scent.

As a loyal citizen I respectfully request FULL transparency in these negotiations. Trolls cannot be trusted!

The worshipful Human Miner's Guild would surely be cautious of any treaty that may flood the market with cheap shovels and metal.

From Queen Lissar:It was never our intention to keep you in the dark in these matters. all will have a chance to see the treaty before it is signed. There will be a meeting to look over it this Friday, but basically what it entails isprotection of the troll's ancestral home north of Minoc, giving Minoc itself to us, as well as a lifting of the trade embargo placed on the trolls so they might sell their specialised shovels, ores, and other miscellaneous goods. We view this as an acceptable arrangement. there are of course some details to be worked out, but those are the basics. We have kept these talks in private in an effort to keep the peace, as tensions are extremely high at ech meeting as is and some people of the realm are prejudiced against the trolls.
((note that I mean the 11th for this to go down, time T.B.D))
