Are you running it on fullscreen? Check your uo.cfg file and make sure Fullscreen is off.

Which version are you installing from? If it's something old, try reinstalling using the UO Gold client that's available online:

UO is working with my copy of Win7, but I never had to change color depth or adjust any of those settings. (Seems weird to me, to be honest.)

Personally, I'd set your video back to defaults and make sure you have the latest drivers for it. (What video card do you have?)

full screen is off.

it loaded once for me and then it started that colour settings bs.

windows 7 with a 230 vid card. got plenty ram etc.

used the online file to install it.

tried running it under windows 7 and also with the compatiblity set to win95. exactly the same behaviour under both.

As I recall a generic fix to assorted UO config problems, is to go into your UO install and delete the desktop directory, you will lose all your settings and macros, but it should get you around your problem, unless your whole install got borked somehow.

Also, if it helps, I got connected last night by
1) download and install the UO trial Laephis linked above
2) installed the wodfiles
3) installed the wodli.cfg file

Patching doesn't seem to be necessary at all.

Yeah, at this point I would avoid patching all together.

Try to switch to Win7 classic desktop. I had a software that only works when desktop is the classic desktop, otherwise it won't start.

not sure at all what's going on with this. the first time it loaded and otehr than being a small box in the upper left corner of the screen it was ok. don't think it had any of my config stuff as there was no paperdoll up or any of the assorted stuff littering the screen i had when i played.

will give the classic desktop a try soon as i figure out what that is.

I installed UO and had it fully patched and I could not get it to work. I then uninstalled UO and reinstalled without patching it and so far no issues

Confused here since I'm not big into gaming as I once was. I deleted all the text in the login.cfg and typed in wodli.cfg and saved it. It still wont work. Was I supposed to delete all the text in the login.cfg?
