Does anyone remember the best/fastest way to get there? I think Ive found a way through Hythloth but I can't be sure

I think NPC mage shopkeepers will gate you there for a fee (100 gps)

I think you can, goto an npc mage and say "gate fire" they should open as portal for you, our you can use the rune books on top of fellowship hall
