repairing cloth items

Before I destroy something trying to repair it,how do you repair cloth items,click the sewing kit first then item you want repaired?

Yep, but I´m not pretty sure if item can be destroyed in process.

Anytime you repair an item it can be destroyed.
If it will be destroyed depends on the condition of the item, how often it has been repaired before and the skill level of the person performing the repairs.
For cloth items you will need bolts of cloth in your main pack to perform the repairs.
