Repairing Items

Post by Thomas Duklain » Mon Dec 03, 2012 10:29 pm

I repaired a rune blade that had 245-345 durability. The system message said it was repaired successfully. But afterward it still said 245-345 durability and the damage was unchanged.

I know you've been adjusting/looking at adjusting things in this area but I'm not sure it's doing what it's supposed to be doing?

So I just checked the item I was referencing in the first post and my durability is now 293/292! This after having been repaired with 109.1 blacksmithing doing one successful repair on the item.

At this point, and I'm sorry to complain but, I don't see the point in bothering to repair things when they are going to be so damaged with successful repairing.

It's like duct tape was used and it was called good, but really, it's not good.

I'm kind of scratching my head trying to figure it out and to me it just doesn't make sense that a dude that's above GM level can't fix a thing and not screw it up.

That's one of the icky things I was talking with you about earlier today, remember? Item repair needs a redesign, at least in terms of formulae. Long term damage shouldn't be so high.

Also after I repair the item the durability looks the same. When I log out and into the server again then the durability has changed. But aside from the "you repaired the thing" message there's no indication that the thing was fixed until re logging into the server.

Yes, I have to notify the client so it requests the info again. New clients have all item info in a cache. Must add that to all repairing scripts.

If you see any other situation where an item's tooltip info is not updated, please let me know.

And I made everything work similar to OSI. Long term damage is much lower now.

Yesterday I had a bunch of shovels in a bag and sold them. The bag said 403 items before hand and afterward (the bag was empty) it still said 403. It didn't change until I placed another item into the bag.
