Changes for October 2001
10-30-1
- Tamed pets will no longer commit suicide after 1 hour if you go offline. To put it another way,
tamed pets will remain tamed and hidden while you're offline indefinitely. (Actually, up to 30 days.
If you don't log on with that character for 30 days, the pet may be deleted. That's true of
henchmen, merchants, homunculus, etc also.)
10-29-1
- GM Feature: Typing ".go" by itself will now give a list of common locations that you can select
10-28-1
- If you log off (or get disconnected) while having a tamed pet, the pet will now go into hiding
and wait for your return for 1 hour. If you do not log back in within that hour, the pet will
commit suicide.
- Significant changes to way the pet value of tamed creatures is calculated. It may be a bit screwy
for the next couple of days until I tweak it a bit
- Formerly, the pet value of a tamed creature was based on its strength, which isn't a terribly
accurate way to do it. It is now based on the difficulty of taming the pet.
- The number of tamed pets you can control at a time is now based on your taming skill
- Split the petcount of summoned creatures from the petcount of tamed creatures. The number of
summoned creatures you can control is now based on your magery skill
- The price to stable a pet is now varies. In other words, its now a whole lot more expensive
to stable a dragon than a horse.
- Logging off in/near the new bank won't leave a clone behind now
- Increased the range at which bankers can hear
10-27-1
- The Britain Bank has moved. It is now located in the former Britain Mall near the
NorthWest corner of Britain, along the road that leads to Homer Oldham Memorial Cemetary
(AKA Britain cemetary.)
- The Auctioneer is now also located in the new Britain Bank, in the east end
- Before anyone asks, the old bank building isn't currently for sale. It probably will
be eventually but for the time being, its reserved in case there turns out to be problems
with the new bank location and we have to move back.
10-23-1
- Reduced the amount of gold made while jobbing by approximately half
- You will now gain skill while jobbing
- If you ask a merchant for a delivery quest, its now far more likely (about 75% chance) that
you'll be asked to deliver the package to someone in the current town
- If you are asked to deliver the package to another town, the payment for that delivery will
be greater.
- Updated the WoD script release
10-22-1
- The Dispel Field spell now affects travel gates
- Beef jerky now only produces one unit at a time (instead of the previous 2 units of
beef jerky.) That one beef jerky is now quite a bit more nutritious than it was previously.
10-20-1
- Rapiers are now poisonable
- Adjusted the weight of some assorted items
10-17-1
- Yesterday's addition of a Yes/No prompt for releasing pets now only applies to 'meaningful'
pets such as dragons and other higher-level taming creatures.
10-16-1
- Fixed a bug with henchmen in guardmode that would sometimes cause them to attack other
players if those players had a tamed pet. This would cause the guard's owner to go grey if
they were online
- You can now only transfer ownership of pets to other players, not NPCs or inanimate objects
- You can no longer transfer ownership of totem pets while in animal form. If you want to
give an obsidian horse to someone else, shrink them and hand them over
- Tamed creatures will now ignore "all release" or "[petname] release" if it occurs in the
middle of a sentence. To release a pet, ONLY say "all release" or "[petname] release"
- Releasing a pet now comes with a Yes/No prompt
- Fixed a bug where it was sometimes possible to transfer pets to people unable to control them
- Weapons should now break correctly if they reach 0 HP.
10-15-1
- Henchmen will no longer train on training dummies once they have reached their statcap
- It is no longer possible to use the teleport spell within the house boundries of a house
that you do not own or are friended to
10-12-1
- Added rapiers. They are one handed fencing weapons with the same damage/speed as
all other one handed non-mage weapons.
- Rapiers can be crafted by blacksmiths, found in monster loot, etc.
