The dragon can still firebreathe on you (even if no one's fighting it), but the tamer should have enough opportunity to heal him/herself if the dragon is paralyzed. Moreover, the better your animal lore is the more likely you are to "calm" the beast. I remember Aldwyn tamed most of his Greats without having to rely on the paralyze spell. I did have to run around a bit until I got it right though, so I suppose paralyze would shorten the time quite a bit.
In my opinion these changes made are into the right direction. Thanx goes to drocket trying to balance the game.
Thing is that we are never going to see totally even characters. Characters are made different to serve different purposes.
There has been talk about how pure mages or pure necros are overpowered compared to so called hybrid mages. Well if that is how you feel about it, dont play one. Play pure mage.
I have total of 5 characters who all are so called hybrid mages. (magery 100+) Ok I lost stats and AR in these changes, but i feel that those still are very much alive and well. (ok i have died a few times with Darian, but thats called playing carelessly, not underpower character)
Now if you feel like your character lost more than some other character, adjust your skills. If you feel like the new skillset doesnt work any better, rethink the skills again?
It is impossible to make all the characters totally even in every possible situation thinkable in the game and lets not forget the different opinions in here.
It seems to me that people have forgot that maybe we arent supposed to get everything done alone? Maybe we arent supposed to be able to kill all the monsters solo? If you feel like something is too hard, drop a message to a fellow WoD player and ask for help?
For example I would be more than happy to join a taming crew, maybe kill a few ancients or royals while in there.
