I had an acquaintance on OSI. I say acquaintance because I barely knew him but we got to chatting one day on OSI and compared journies and deaths due to pk's. He told me he was going to go looking for free shards that dont allow pk's. I wondered, "Is there such a place?" LOL
Well, yes there he. He got ahold of me on OSI (Superior) and told me of WoD. I didnt come over right away because I was in a guild with some players that eventually came over to WoD and have left already due to rl things. They were Mavrick and Elizabeth. This all took place just around 5 months of WoD's existance. I dont remeber the names of my friend from OSI but he kept nagging me to come over to WoD and how awesome it was.
Well, the guild eventually folded and thats when I made my move. I applied to WoD. I was at first rejected but then I tried to reapply and eventually got in.
The rest is history.....I have been here just over 4 years. Have made plenty of friends. I think the people here are just awesome.
Hmmmmm Metropopolis and Aurora, both from the Great state of Illinois. Same as I, I am in Oak Lawn right outside of Chicago. I do plan on doing a Kentucky trip soon and hopefully make a stop in Paducah to look up a childhood friend who moved there right after High School and havent heard or seen much of him since. Maybe I'll get to see the statue of Superman on the way there hehe

I joined with Dione (Though I wasn't accepted at first, only had a free email so she had to refer me). As she said, it was a break from other shards, but it has became more of my main shard.

oh oh my turn my turn. lol I came to play Ultima online through my boyfriend (presently known as lagger) and At first I played the neverlands shard for about 5 or 6 months then he introduced me to WOD which he has been a part of for gosh...years. hehe and I have been here for uhh about a year and a half. He wanted me to play because he said and i quote "It is the best and most friendly shard out there" And wow was he right. I love it here! the funny part of this story is all of his friends always said he was lucky that his girlfriend wanted to play computer games with him. Because I am the typical skinny blonde with lots of friends and a cheerleader attitude. lol so everyone I meet thinks its odd that I play but I am actually pretty good with knowing a computer inside and out and I play many computer/rpg games. there now everyone knows alittle about me and how i got here!

Well i see this thread got started back in February but i wanted to relate my story eventhough it sounds a lot like several others here.

Bronwyn (my RL best friend) had been playing for years on another player run shard and was always trying to get me to play but it just really wasnt my cup of tea (or so i thought).

Then in August of 2003 i quit my job and had some free time on my hands she had been at WOD a few months and played here all the time. So to hang out with her i would have to join up. I got my acceptance 3 days after applying and have been a WOD addict ever since. The friendly people and the atmosphere are what keep me here.
