I'd enjoy a chess tournament myself. And if there were living peices that we could make fight and kill each other... Well.... That just adds to the fun of it..

So, were you all being serious about wanting to have a Chess Tournament? We would need a big place with chess tables set up. Does anyone have any suggestions? My first thought is, as usual, The Haunt.

Also, does anyone have extra chess boards laying around that could be used for this tournament (you would get it back after the event)?

given the difficulty in getting a group of people together perhaps a less formal arrangement could be set up. get the admins to nail down a chess board upstairs at the bank and do a round robin sort of thing. could put down a grand a piece into a locked chest to play with the winner taking it all. it would be woddian to split the winnings tween several top players but since chess is a blood sport after all i think winner take all would be the way to go.

I was serrious as a heart attack about the chess tournament idea. I think it would be great fun. Lets play for bigger stakes though. How about a 2500gp per person entry fee?

if you want to go for the gusto why not a full stack of gold. 60k per entrant would add up pretty fast to a worthy pot.
