Like . . . who? And what exactly do you mean by "internal shard politics?" I hope you're not referring to someone disagreeing with someone else ON THE BOARDS, 'coz that doesn't even count as "internal."

I've heard word that some have quit due to the wolfpacks,

If wolfpacks are "making" you angry enough to quit then you really need to stop playing online games and learn to enjoy the great outdoors instead. Spring is finally here! The weather out there is lovely (well at least here in Tennessee it is :)).

still others quit because of the special treatment the oldbies get

Special treatment??? WHAT!!! Do you mean to tell me I'm supposed to be getting special treatment and no one told me!!! This is an outrage! Ohhh...the audacity, I tell ya.
Drocket is going to hear from me . . .

*feels cheated*

Special treatment?! You mean I've been missing out?

I must have missed that in my secret not-quite-oldbie instruction manual.

(joking, of course)

By the way, what's the criteria for being called an oldbie? I don't know if I'm there yet. In game, not on the message boards. :)

You are SUCH a troll. Does it give you a warm sense of satisfaction, a twisted sense of importance, to see people respond to your posts?

Oh, that would be so horrible if he wanted to stir things up by posting something he knew would get people's attention...

I see through your clever ploy, Simon!

Dunno how clever it is but hopefully it really is a ploy. With Simon it is often difficult to tell. I still insist that GB has annexed the bloody midwest though. Y'all hail the Queen!

In regards to instigating conflict, I have to admit I am guilty of that myself at times. But, I don't think I do it to get attention. It is sort of a dumbass thing to do but hey, dumbassedness is highly underrated.

You do the same thing bayn, I wasn't saying it was a good reason, mearly stating that is what the person said as they quit.

Wolfie wrote:I think we had a long thread arguing/whining about this a couple months back. No one ever came up with any actual evidence of "special treatment." Probably someone was jealous that an older player had nicer stuff, and didnt make the connection that he had earned the stuff through being here longer.

Wolfie got it, someone did quit for the very reason i listed, and yet 3 of you jump all over me. I didn't say it was a good reason to quit, mearly that it had been done, and also we do have alot of new players now, so i'd say we're doing fine.

So what you actually intended to post was not:

still others quit because of the special treatment the oldbies get

but rather something along the lines of:

still others quit because of an incorrect perception of the special treatment they think oldbies get

you've got to love this place.

I really don't see how anyone can't. Can't see how anyone can leave this place aside from RL reasons...

Hat's off to the admins!!

internal shard politics are driving some people out, I've heard word that some have quit due to the wolfpacks, still others quit because of the special treatment the oldbies get

Sounds to me like you are either endorsing those views or at least critizing the shard for allowing people who quit to use such excuses as their purported reasons for leaving (as if we had any control over what a disgruntled player may want to claim).

If anything, the first statement is clearly YOUR opinion (which again I must disagree with). As for the other two comments, since you are not verbally disgreeing with them I must assume you cited them with the intend of chastising us or making us feel "ashamed" that people would say such things about the shard (and the "rolling eyes" emoticon at the end only solidifies this assumption). Particularly the third one sounds awfully like an accusation.

If I come out and say "I've heard people are quitting WoD because Simon trolls the boards too much, and still others quit because he's such a PITA to deal with in-game " Wouldn't you assume I'm citing that with the purpose of making you feel guilty for being such "a troll?" If I do not clarify with "but of course this is not true" or some other comment like that one, then you must necessarily assume I'm agreeing with the commentary I've heard.

If you've ever written a research paper you'd know everything you quote, every idea that you borrow, you automatically admit as yours UNLESS you explicitly make it clear you do not agree with such a view, and are only quoting/citing it to criticize and/or evaluate it.

Which makes you wonder why he preferred to use the first statement over the second one, doesn't it?

dudes, someone said, "I don't see why anyone would quit WoD, other then RL reasons" and all i done was pointed out that people have quit for other reasons.

Sorry Bayn,

I don't think he is roleplaying. He truly is a Troll.
