A new threat

Something troubled Xanola, as he left the idiot Swind... the earth seemed somehow strange to him today. In the past, he would have known right away what the cause was, but today it baffled him. He idly wandered the streets first of Cove, then of Britain, pondering this strange and familiar feeling. He said his hellos to a few old friends, and had a short conversation with Sam.
While in the bank, he heard Bodunha and Garrett discussing something that instantly piqued his interest. A cave, full of vampires, in Compassion desert. That was it! The undead forces in the world had grown too powerful, and needed to be culled. After bribing Scythyn with a few choice cuts of meat, he approached the other 2 adventurers with a proposal to go deal with this threat... for whatever their motives, they each accepted, and were off.
Xanola chanted a few arcane words and openned a portal outside of Famine, where they were greeted immediately by the unnatural forces of the undead, which between the 4 of them they made short work of, then ventured inside. As he had surmised, Xanola found Famine to be infested with the stench of rotting flesh and morbid desires. As they proceeded onwards, Scythyn warned him of ever increasing dangers looming ahead, lurking in the darkness. before he could warn the others, however, Garrett ran ahead, sure he could take whatever he found in stride... What he found, however, was something out of nightmares. A very old, very malevolent presence shambled out of the shadows, and began viciously attacking the virtue guard... it was a fierce, but concise battle, as Garrett fell unto the Vampire lord. Xanola and Bodunha, knowing they were unprepared for such a battle, made a quick retreat into areas they knew were safe, with Scythyn covering their retreat. In the shadows of that dark place, Bodunha and Xanola schemed and strategized, awaiting the return of Scythyn, which did not come. Eventually, Xanola spotted a slightly translucent figure approaching them in the darkness... It was Garrett's spirit, not ready to yet leave this world. Bodunha and Xanola each drew upon their reserves of mystic energies to transform the ghost into a corporeal being.
Finally, Xanola determined that the worst fate had befallen his beloved friend, and went to rush foreward, only to be stopped short by Garrett. Garrett reminded the overly hasty druid of the dangers they faced within, and they began to strategize once more. They determined it would be best that Bodunha and Garrett provide some distraction, whilst Xanola revived his powerful ally. And so they commenced. First, Bodunha ran in, unleashing a flurry of arrows on the bloodsucking fiend, followed shortly by Garrett, who quickly grabbed a weapon off of his old shell, and stabbed the vampiric lord through the wings, pinning it to the cavern wall. Finally, Xanola rode past and with a surge of energy, and a brilliant light yelled "An Corp"! Scythyn was revived, and rushed to take on the now helpless foe, but right as he got within claw range, Bodunha pierced the villain's heart with an arrow enchanted by his silver bow. The demon fell foreward, groaning in pain, and as he did so Xanola felt the unease of the land lift. They tended their wounds and made their way back up to the land of light, knowing they had done a good deed this day.
