Mana Stones can be used to give mundane items the properties of another magical item. The items must be similar in nature, belonging to the same general class or group. The table to the right shows the available group types. As you can see by the table you would not be able to cross a long sword with a rapier or a platemail chest piece with leather legs.

The mundane item that you use must be a player crafted item of exceptional quality (with the exception of druid and necro staves and virtue shields, since players can't make them.).

When transferring any item into another all of the stats of the magical item will transferred to the mundane item. The item's hit points are transferred to the new item. If dealing with armor the protection area, AR, strength requirements, dexterity penalties, blocking meditation, etc will be transferred to the new item.

Mana Stones will only work once on any given item. Once the transfer is complete the item can not be transfered to another item.

Repairing armor may not require the correct skill. The intention is that the item should be repaired by the item it looks like (so a tailor would need to repair a studded tunic, even if its 'really' platemail.) Until corrected repair is done based on what the item really is (only applies to armor).

How do you get one of these wonderous devices, you ask? Well, you have to make them. First off, you need an alchemist to make an elixer potion for you. You will need a diamond, a wyrmsheart and a potion bottle to make the elixer. Then you find a tinker to turn the potion, a gold bar, and 10 star sapphires into the stone (use the tools on the potion). And that's about it.
