Isn't Vesper supposed to be overrun with Vamps?

I thought Vesper had a vampire invasion spawner? I went there expecting some vamps to slay and found only annoying townsfolk (who I am very tempted to slay when they don't move out of my path)

Vesper used to be, but there was a reason for that, it was explained in a quest, then the object of their invasions was destroyed, if I recall correctly, so they stopped invading.
I'm familiar with the acacia. I know how immortality is achieved.

Agrreed, I like to hunt undead things. Went into Famine and the dungeon is a little sketchy with regards to falling off the sites and LOS for the vamps.
